How We Research and Recommend
How we compare products and choose our picks.
We start with the exact model
We check Amazon listings, then look for the matching manufacturer page and manual. Similar names can describe different machines, so we keep their details separate. If a number or feature is unclear, we say what still needs checking.
What we compare
We look at the power a model can supply, the fuel it uses, its outlets, starting method, weight, and warranty. For battery models, we also check battery size, charging options, and included panels. Higher price alone does not make a product one of our picks.
What our reviews are based on
Our reviews use published product information. We have not personally tested these generators. We use AI to help prepare the site and explain information. Where the maker and seller disagree, we flag the detail rather than choose whichever number looks better.
How we use owner feedback
Owner comments can point out things to check, such as noise, starting problems, or service experiences. A few comments cannot tell us how often a problem happens. We keep feedback for the exact model separate from reviews for similar products.
How our calculators help
The calculators compare your appliance numbers with product ratings. Example appliance numbers may differ from yours. Results are estimates. Check appliance manuals, and ask an electrician about house wiring or larger pumps. For medical equipment, arrange backup with its supplier.
Prices and packages can change
Our price filters use prices seen during our research. Check Amazon for the current price, seller, stock, and included equipment. A package with extra panels or batteries can cost more than the power station alone.
Tell us if something needs correcting
Use the contact form with the model name, the detail you think is wrong, and a supporting link. We can then check the information against the matching product documents.
